I have been looking for ways to use the ginger syrup I bought as an impulse purchase several months ago. I had fallen in love with a cocktail whose ingredients has been listed simply on the bar chalkboard as prosecco, ginger and bitters on the bar. I thought the syrup would work for my own rendition of the cocktail, and it did, but I soon found ginger liquor to be a better alternative. So I’ve had a little stash of the stuff I am looking to work my way through.
There have been ginger roasted Brussel sprouts and this Ginger Peach Oatmeal here and I am looking forward to trying some of the suggestions on the bottle’s label – like drizzling over warm chocolate cake!
The brand I’m using, and liking very much, is the ginger people, a company solely dedicated to foods, beverages and beauty products made from ginger that comes from a particular area on the southeast coast of China.
Peach Ginger Oatmeal
Serves 1
To roast peaches, preheat oven to 375°F. Halve peaches, remove pit, and lay cut side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush fruit with a bit of melted butter and bake for 12-15 minutes until soft and peach juices run.
Top prepared oatmeal with half a roasted peach, a little handful of slivered almonds and a “happy” swirl of ginger syrup.
Enjoy!
